People visiting the Koh Samui Regatta at the beginning of June may want to take part in a golf tournament being run as part of the event.


KOH SAMUI, THAILAND, April 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone who has booked accommodation in Koh Samui at the beginning of June will no doubt be aware that their visit coincides with the island's annual regatta.

In addition to all the sailing races taking place over the week-long event, there is also a golf tournament which is open to anyone.

People who enjoy a leisurely afternoon on the green may be tempted to hire a set of clubs and enter the contest.

Scheduled for June 3rd at the Santiburi Samui Country Club, anyone is welcome to enter.

Featuring an 18-hole course, it will provide some entertainment for those who want a break from all the sailing action taking place, although you can still catch glimpses of the ocean as you play from some of the course's many hills.

The action is set to tee-off at 12:30 (local time) and a 3,500 baht (GBP70.62) registration fee is payable to take part.

Anyone staying in accommodation in Thailand who is interested in entering the Koh Samui Regatta golf tournament should contact the venue to sign up.

It is described as a stroke play tournament, with the 36 system being used to decide the handicap and the winner will be selected according to Stable Ford points.
