LateRooms.com - Munich to Welcome Golf Stars for BMW International Open
The BMW International Open will bring star golfers such as Paul Casey and Ernie Els to Munich.

MUNICH, GERMANY, April 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Some of the best golfers in Europe will be booking hotels in Munich for the forthcoming BMW International Open.

Taking place from June 24th to 27th at the Golfclub Munchen Eichenried on the outskirts of the city, this annual event is a popular stop on the European Tour for both players and fans.

Last year's tournament saw Nick Dougherty claim the title in emotional circumstances after a dramatic finish, with the Englishman expected to defend his trophy this time around.

Three players ranked among the top ten in the world have already confirmed their places in the field for 2010, with Paul Casey, Ernie Els and Martin Kaymer all set to take part.

Home favourite Kaymer is a former winner of the event, having triumphed in 2008.

Other past champions include Colin Montgomerie, John Daly and former US Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger.

Earlier this month, tournament sponsor BMW and the organisers announced that this year's championship will take place under the motto "100 days to go".

This refers to the fact that just 100 days after the event finishes in Munich, the 2010 Ryder Cup clash between Montgomerie's Europeans and the US team captained by Corey Pavin will get underway at Celtic Manor in Wales.

Montgomerie will therefore be keeping a close eye on the performance of Europe's top players at the BMW International Open, with stars such as Spain's Sergio Garcia and Robert Karlsson of Sweden also expected to play.

With Ryder Cup points at stake alongside a prize fund of EUR2 million (GBP1.7 million), the tournament is guaranteed to produce plenty of exciting moments for golf fans.

Tickets for the tournament are priced at EUR35 for rounds three and four (Saturday 26th June and Sunday 27th June).

Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for the BMW International Open is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hotels Munchen as early as possible."
