The New Mexico Shootout Postponed for 2009
The Annual New Mexico Shootout is held at Sierra del Rio Championship Golf Course at Turtleback Mountain Resort each fall in Elephant Butte, NM.
ELEPHANT BUTTE, NM, August 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jack Whitt, CEO of Turtleback Mountain Resort announced today that The New Mexico Shootout has been postponed for 2009. "We've been very fortunate in the past years to have tremendous support from our sponsors. Economically speaking, we're all in the same boat this year and feel the postponement is appropriate", stated Whitt.
Organizers will take this time to restructure the event slightly to deliver an even better experience for all in 2010.
Guy Wimberly, PGA Director of Golf at Sierra del Rio commented by saying, "We look forward to the bright future this event holds. We're so proud to have this event make history as the single most attended one-day golf event in New Mexico".
Sierra del Rio Golf Course has been the birthplace and home to this great event since 2007. The exhibition golf match between four of the premier players from the LPGA has not only been a positive impact on Elephant Butte, but all of Sierra County. The New Mexico Shootout has been a great opportunity to reveal to the golfing world that New Mexico is fast becoming a "must play" destination for golfers everywhere.
